LOCATION: In the Mississippi River just 30 minutes down river by boat, 10 minutes by plane, a short 25 minutes (by car) from downtown Memphis and just across from the corps of engineer's boat ramp near Walls, Mississippi.
The island is actually located in Crittenden County, Arkansas just east of Horseshoe Lake and 10 minutes upstream from Tunica, Mississippi.
Cat Island may also be known as Cat Island Towhead and Harkleroad Towhead.
ACCESS: By boat or plane only. There is an area on the island that would provide enough room for a air strip.
Access by boat from the Mississippi side of the river near Walls, Ms. Take Old Hwy 61 west out of Walls to the levee where the boat ramp is. Once you get to the boat ramp the island is directly across. I would estimate about a three minute boat ride to the island from the ramp.
HUNTING: HIGHLY DEVELOPED!! Great deer, turkey in the timber and open field areas. Property is located east of the Mississippi River levee in ZONE 17.
Excellent duck hunting in the old river chutes on the island and canadian goose hunting along the sandbars and shore lines.
Food plots and trails are in place.
FISHING: It doesn't get any better when the water is right. Great crappie fishing in the river chute and cat fishing in the river.
WILDLIFE WATCHING opportunites include but are not limited to bald eagles, otters, an occasional black bear, coyote, deer, turkey and waterfowl.
TIMBER: The island has a large variety of trees including: hackberry, elm, sycamore, cottonwood, maple and willow. Call our office for info.
